It is now 2015!
I haven't made a blog post on this blog in such a long time! There is so much to fill you in on...
Basically at the end of last year I couldn't decide what I wanted to major in - Journalism or Public Relations. It took alot of people's opinions and eventually I signed up to become a Public Relations major. The idea of having a journalism qualification was cool, but my heart wasn't dedicated to constantly write stories and intrude on other peoples lives. I also figured I am better and getting myself out of a situation that putting myself into one.
This year has been crazy busy so far! Trying to get used to being a third year (still crazy as to think we're graduating in a year!) and learning what is expected is quite a daunting thing. It's week 7 already. Holidays are next week and unfortunately my tutors idea of a break still involves assignments.
Works been going okay too. I haven't worked much this year. I haven't really had much of a chance. But I've officially been at MediaWorks for a whole year now and I still absolutely love it!
The one thing I am trying to get used to with Public Relations is the constant planning and proposals! Almost a pro at them already! I am taking three PR classes - Applied Public Relations, Project Management for the Creative Industries and Advertising Strategies. For each class we have group projects and proposals to do. Its hard trying to remember which one is which half the time. I am also taking one journalism class - Feature Writing. I am taking this class so that I can still practice my writing skills. I am not a huge fan of writing but I thought I could accept a challenge. So far I've written a few practice pieces and I even wrote an awesome review (even though the idea was to review a review and I misunderstood the idea) but either way, my tutor thought it was better than the original review which is a good thing I guess.
There is so much more to say and I guess I better start updating this blog a bit more. But for now I am tired and in need of a reality TV fix.
Until next time,
